White wins a pawn from the sham sacrifice.
Instead of 3 Qxc5, White sees an in-between move and plays 3 Qd5+ to force the king back, thus preventing 3 ... Re8.
Consider your board carefully before making any 'obvious' move.
Don't make it too automatic.
